HVAP organized Inter Project Coordination Workshop

11. June. 2015| High Value Agriculture Project (HVAP) organized a day long Inter Project Coordination and Interaction Workshop with the involvement of high level representatives from Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD), Department of Agriculture and Livestock and Regional Directors from Agriculture, Livestock and Administration and liked minded project stakeholders from PACT, RISMFP, KUBK, HIMALI, AFSP, WUPAP and IWRMP in Surkhet. The workshop was chaired by Regional Agricultural Director-Mr. Achyut Prasad Dhakal where Regional Chief of Administration- Mr. Bijaya Kumar Mallik and Joint Secretary-Dr.  Shyan Kishor Shah presented as a Chief of Guest. Similarly, Director of General-Mr. Youbak Dhoj GC from Department of Agriculture and Director of General-Mr. Keshab Prasad Premi from Department of Livestock and other few representatives from agriculture department were also presented. The main objective of the workshop was to bring all the projects and programs under MOAD in a common platform for sharing knowledge and best practices as well as to identify threats and challenges to implement project interventions.



The workshop has provided an excellent floor to share and discuss on projects information such as implementation modality, project achievements, issues and challenges. On this process, the program managers from above mentioned projects presented about their projects being focused on issues, challenges, lesson learnt and project make success and achievements.  After sharing projects information, the team found busy on the discussion of project issues, duplication problem, and need of inter project coordination and collaboration. Throughout the process, a HVAP team member has listed major issues and challenges faced by these projects and programms where Regional Directors, Director Generals and Joint Secretory provided possible solution to manage the problems.



End of the session, all the project leaders and representatives from MOAD, Departments and RDs realized that there are some duplication problem among the projects and that need to be settled from inter project cooperation where such workshop plays a vital role. Hence, HIMALI project decided to organize similar coordination workshop by the end of this fiscal year.



While closing the session, Chair Person, Joint Secretary and DGs highlighted the success of HVAPs and assured all the projects and programmes being implemented under MOAD for the possible support, if needed. Similarly, the team felt importance of such projects for the inclusive economic growth and agricultural development in context the country like Nepal.  On this workshop, Local Medias were also invited and acknowledged for their contribution to capture and disseminate projects successes. Approx. 62 people were presented.
