With the theme of “Establish Enterprise, Increase Income, and Promote Local Products”; the micro-enterprise exhibition fair, 2071 was held in Surkhet, Nepal. The exhibition was organized with the aim of bringing pioneer rural entrepreneurs from the mid-west Nepal in one platform and showcases their products at regional level. Total 24 stalls were selling and showcasing varieties of local products such as Apple, Apple slices and bean from Jumla, organic tea, herbal and medicinal products, turmeric, allo products, timur, locally produced leather shoes, honey, and agriculture tools.
The two day fair from 22-23 Sept. 2014 was organized by Micro Enterprise Development Program (MEDEP), High Value Agriculture Program in Hill and Mountain Region (HVAP) and Multi Stakeholder Forestry Program (MSFP) coordinating with Small and Medium Cottage Industry, Surkhet. From the organizers, it is told that more than 14000 visitors left their footprint on this exhibition.
Most importantly, HVAP promoted turmeric and timur products have been able to do lucrative business in the exhibition.
