3 days VCD-IB Workshop Completed

High Value Agriculture Programme in Hill and Mountain Areas of Nepal (HVAP) has been implementing its programme activities through local NGOs in seven major mid west districts and far west in Nepal such as  PARD in Salyan, WAC in Achham, SOSEC in Dailekh, EDS in Surkhet, RDN in Kalikot, HRDC in Jajarkot and KASDA in Jumla since its inception. Especially, those LNGOs are responsible to select their field staff tends to have less exposure in Value Chain aspects. It is highlighted that the thrust of the programme is reducing poverty and vulnerability of pro-poor through economic growth can be achieved through value chain development and inclusive business. Hence, HVAP has organized 3 days training and workshop on Value Chain Development and Inclusive Business (VCD-IB) for LNGOs members and their field staff at Surkhet. The objective of the training/workshop was to increase capacity within LNGOs to understand overall aspects of value chain development.



 



Within 3 days, the workshop was mainly concentrated on VCD-IB approach where participants were theoretically and practically exposed with sustainable economic development and value chain, VCD framework and approach, VC selection processes, VC mapping and Analysis, VC mapping in HVAP Programme, formulating market based solutions-approach and tools, assessment of solutions, inclusive business modality in HVAP, VC facilitation and capacity building services, monitoring VC performance and measuring results, and inclusive business: concepts and approaches.
