High Value Agriculture Programme in Hill and Mountain Areas (HVAP) accomplished a 3 days programme review and planning meeting at PMU office Surkhet from 04-06 Aug.2014. The purpose of the meeting is to review last year’s progress and prepare work plan for current year in a participatory way along with HVAP PMU staff, HVAP field staff and district based local NGO’s board members and their staff. The review meeting was formally opened up with the welcome speech of Mr. Rajendra Prasad Bhari, Programme Manager of HVAP.
Major activities carried out during the meeting; 1. Shared 7 LNGOs’ (PARD from Salyan, WAC from Achham, SOSEC from Dailekh, EDS from Surkhet, RDN from Kalikot, HRDC from Jajarkot and KASDA from Jumla) progress, 2.Shared lead organizations’ (SNV, AEC and MOAD) progress, 3.Conducted world cafe session to prioritize possible value chain product among the seven for further expansion, 4.Prepared and shared detail action plan-VC team-wise, and Prepared and 5. Shared detail action plan-district-wise
Major outcomes: The meeting had not only assisted the team to be updated on project progress but also exposed with gap and lacking point for the smooth implementation of project. The major outcome of the meeting is each VC team, district LNGOs have comprehensive action plan in hand. On the basis of this action plan each individual staff will be preparing individual action plan in the coming days.
The meeting can be taken as an effective means of sharing project progress and prepare participatory project planning where more than 70 people including LNGOs staff and board members participated. It is believe that the sharing and planning meeting will assist the team to successfully accomplish project activities.
