HVAP review and planning workshop organised

High Value Agriculture Project in Hill and Mountain Areas (HVAP) organised its second review and planning workshop at Thakurdwara of Bardia district on 3-4 May 2013. Representatives from Ministry of Agricultural Development, Regional Agriculture Directorates, District Agriculture Development Offices, District Livestock Service Offices, District Forest Offices, District Chambers of Commerce and Industry, non-governmental organisations, and Agro Enterprise Centre participated in the workshop along with HVAP PMU members.



The workshop was organised to introduce and orient the stakeholders on HVAP’s current status and accomplishments, fund guidelines, review and reflect over HVAP activities accomplished till date, and plan for the next fiscal year.



On the first day, the thematic groups presented on their achievements, gaps, and proposed solutions. Following the presentations, the speakers commented and suggested on the   presentations. The workshop was chaired by Mr Shree Narayan Sharma, Regional Agriculture Director of Mid-Western Development Region where Mr. Ram Prasad Pulami, Joint Secretary of the MoAD was the Chief Guest. Project Manager, Mr Rajendra Bhari thanked all and also raised the issues and solution of coordination at the district level.



Likewise, on the second day, short presentations on thematic progress review were made by the concerned advisors and experts on what went well, what didn’t go well and the way forward.The district NGOs also presented the progresses accomplished in the concerned districts. . It was followed by the planning exercise.



Thanking the participants, Project Manager, Mr Rajendra Bhari said, “Presenting and discussing on the project progress is a good practice of exploring gaps and shortcomings within us.” He further added, “The suggestions received in the workshop will support in project implementation.”
