GSI and social mobilisation training held

A training on gender and social inclusion (GSI) and social mobilisation was organised by the Programme Management Unit (PMU), HVAP from 28 February – 6 March at Birendranagar, Surkhet for 23 participants from seven working districts of HVAP.

The training sought to enhance the understanding and strengthening capacity of partner NGOs in group and cooperative mobilisation with focus on gender and social inclusion mainstreaming. The training broadly covered the theoretical aspects of GSI and social mobilisation, analysis and facilitation tools, and its practicalities within HVAP.

The training followed a participatory learning approach where a combination of lecture, presentations, plenary and small group discussions, and field visits/exercises were used for practical at hand experiences. Besides, experience sharing, role-plays, gallery walk and case studies analysis methods were used.

The resource persons involved during the training workshop were Hari Ghimire from Nucleus for Empowerment through Skill Transfer (NEST), Anand Saru from Department of Cooperative Training Centre, and Padam Bhandari, Tribhuban Paudel, and Sushila K. Thapa Magar from PMU, HVAP.
