HVAP organised a three days Business Plan Preparation (BPP) Training from 25-27 February 2013 in Surkhet to enhance the capabilities of various stakeholders in facilitating the business plan preparation of district level farmer groups and cooperatives. Forty participants from seven working districts including representatives from District Agriculture Development Office, District Livestock Service Office, District Forestry Office, local NGOs, District Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Regional Agriculture Directorate, and PMU staff participated in the training.
The BPP training was broadly categorised into two perspectives namely corporate business and district cooperative. Mr Sohan Khatri, Director of Grand Bank and Master Trainer of Agricultural Development Bank facilitated the session on corporate business perspective and Mr Ananda Saru, Cooperative Officer conducted the session on district cooperative perspective.
The BPP training was successful in imparting the nuances of business plan preparation showcasing live examples from the agriculture sector. Besides, a practical session on preparing business plans at the cooperative and farmer group levels clarified the core concepts of business plans.
