Media trip organised

A group of journalists from national media including Roshan Shedhai from The Kathmandu Post, Rajesh Prasad Verma from Annapurna Post, Anand Shrestha from Aarthik Abhiyan, Sunil Sharma from Himalaya Times, and Shreehari Thapa and Niran Raj Bana from Avenues Television visited the working area of High Value Agriculture Project in Hill and Mountain Areas (HVAP) in Jumla from 8-11 April 2012.


The media trip was organised to aware the general public of the HVAP project modality and disseminate the HVAP activities to a wider audience by publishing news and feature stories in national media. The media team was be led by Senior Agriculture Officer Mr. Hari Prasad Gurung supported by Communication Officer Sanjib Chaudhary.


The team participated in the planning meeting with representatives of MoAC, AEC, SNV, NGOs, cooperatives and farmers on the first day. On the second and third days, the team visited apple orchards, apple nurseries, vegetable seed farms, District Agriculture Development Office, District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and interacted with the respective officeholders, farmers and traders.


The journalists had the chance to observe the HVAP activities and interview the beneficiaries and stakeholders. Below are the photos and links to few stories published by the media persons after the trip.
